1) Obtain Video Footage: This step is simple. Just get some footage with a camera. There are many different camera’s and ways of getting the footage you need to make a video. However this generally depends on what type of video you are making and what it is for.

2) View/Arrange Footage: This may take a while. Once you have all the footage you will be working with, sit down and look at it all. Every part of the video is important cause you may need to smallest part of it later on. While viewing the footage come up with an idea or a direction in which you want to go with the footage you have to work with. Take notes or even write out some notes to give yourself an idea of where you want to go.

3) Audio Editing(Where it becomes personal): In this step I set up the audio on the time line the way that I thought flowed the best. In doing this you need to be very careful, moving the video and audio at the same time so they stay in sync. This is very useful if you have done, or are familiar with audio editing.

4) Video Editing: Once your audio is in the order you like, you will notice that the video may cut from scene to scene and it won’t look very good. This is where B-Roll come in handy. Whenever a scene changes, insert another corresponding video clip on your video 2 line. This will overlap the video you don’t want to be playing at the time and it makes things look more smooth.
In this step you are able to add tittles as well. Tittles are useful for credits or as the opening tittle to your piece.

5) Posting: The easiest way to post your video on a website is to upload it to Youtube. Simply log on to www.youtube.com and create an account. This will allow you to upload videos to your Youtube account. One of the features of Youtube is embedding, which allows you to actually stick your video into a decent sized window, allowing other to view it with out having to go to Youtube. This is what it will look like.
